Awkward Sounds

Awkward Sounds

I promised your mother I’d never make you cry

Now it’s down to brothers and they’re all choosing sides

Now I see

Ruined we’ll have to be

Too late to change

This fable story

That awkward conversation

None of us can have

It’s too much a temptation

To let this love go bad

Maybe It could save us, we might not fall down

That awkward conversation

Is it over now?

You’ve got that silent look that I can’t keep inside

I’ve broke down and promised upwards of a thousand times

Now I know

This season calls for storms

Must we pay

For our sweet  mistakes?

That awkward conversation

None of us can have

It’s too much a temptation

To let this love go bad

Maybe It could save us, we might not fall down

That awkward conversation

Is it over now?

Somewhere under veils of white I made a promise too

Then somewhere in this tortured song I fell off tune

In between

The hounds turned mean

Snarling bites

That’s how we fight

That awkward conversation

None of us can have

It’s too much a temptation

To let this love go bad

Maybe It could save us, we might not fall down

That awkward conversation

Is it over now?

Nothing ever came from backing out

Laughing ain’t worth much without the sound

Come morning light

Nothing will be safe

If we could fight

A moment we could take

Back all our life

Save us every awkward sound

Maybe it could save us we might not fall down

That whisper’s still inside us but we don’t hear a sound

That awkward conversation

Bare bones invitations

That awkward conversation

Is it over now?

Save us every awkward sound

That awkward conversation

Is it over now?

Is it over now?
